Explore, wander, dine and create!

I’ve combined two of my favorite things - adventure travel and teaching ceramics - to create art retreats that are as much about exploring a place as they are about making art.

Crested Butte, Colorado

In 2026, my first Artventure took us to Crested Butte, Colorado, where we explored a variety of surface decoration techniques while enjoying the landscape, creative community, and mountain town vibe. Luisa at Crested Butte Clay Studio was a terrific host.

Asturias, Spain

In August, I headed across the Atlantic to Northern Spain for an eight-day retreat at Senda d’Arte in Teverga, Asturias with the Art Students League of Denver Travel Program. Together, we explored Pre-Romanesque and medieval architecture, wandered through local villages and mountain landscapes, and sampled regional cuisine. In the studio, we translated our experiences into art journals and pottery with rich surface decoration. New friendships formed as we shared experiences and created art together in the studio.
