Classes & Workshops
2026 - 2027
Atelier in Spain: Layered Imagery on Clay and Paper. 2027.
Join me for an immersive pottery journey inspired by the rich history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes of Asturias. Begin the week in Oviedo and the surrounding region, gathering imagery, ideas, and experiences. Then, after settling in at Senda d’Arte, learn to build pottery forms using clay slabs and create dynamic, layered surfaces with monoprints, silkscreens, and stencils. We will also dabble in book arts with each participant making a small art journal. Visiting local villages and the surrounding mountains and enjoying local cuisine round out the week. Handbuilding and studio basics required. Contact me if you are interested in joining this artventure.

Hopeful Birds, Thursday Dec 3 from 10a-2p. REGISTER HERE.
Join ceramic artist Rita Vali for this heartwarming and creative workshop as you sculpt a pair of Hopeful Birds—symbols of peace, resilience, hope, and connection.
Using a variety of hand-building techniques, you'll create two expressive ceramic birds, each reflecting your own unique style. One bird will be yours to keep as a reminder of beauty and hope. The second will become part of a growing flock of donated birds, shared with a special group or community to offer encouragement, comfort, and a reminder that they are not alone.
Rita will guide you step by step through the process of shaping, texturing, and decorating your birds using carving tools, stamps, and colorful underglazes. Along the way, you'll discover the joy of transforming a simple piece of clay into a meaningful work of art.
